Out and about today! Overcast, not cold at all, low to mid 60's. Rolled out on my familiar eastern route toward Booger Hill. Stopped here in Watertown for lunch. The Saturday special today was fried chicken livers! I had a cheesburger.

Roads today for the most part were empty of bikes with the exception of a few hardcore riding friendly Harley folks. Most sport riders pussed out today.

Hwy 141

Nice curvy country road discovered today. Temp hit 71 today. Beautiful weather over this weekend. Supposed to be huge trout in this river. Definitely dropping a line in that next season.

FINALLY part 2

Well the moving truck showed up today and dropped of the goods. Getting the new house settled, walls to paint and stuff to organize.
If you go back and look at the post about the new home construction, well that never happened. The builder could never give me or 20 other potential buyers a straight answer so I had to punt and look for another home.
Elaine is here and things will get back to normal soon. Not much riding this year on account of all that's happened but I should get back into it soon enough.

8.12.06 Ride

Connected with Mike(ST4) and Alan(MTS) We stayed off the Trace but was all over that area. Not sure where exactly. I remember the village of Santa Fe & Theta. There was some narrow country lanes we rode on, perfect for the Multistrada.
Beautiful country side out there.
Weather was overcast and stayed around the high 80's. A welcome break considering the high 90 to 100's over the past two weeks. Roads had lots of debris in spots from the previous nights hard rain. We all handled it well, the pace was kept to match the conditions. Overall we spent 4+ hours in the saddle. It was a good day to get out!

Natchez Trace & Pucketts Grocery

Beautiful day today. Mid 80's and low humidity. Good day to break in the new Cortech HRX mesh kit. I connected to the Trace at the intersection of Rt100 which I guess is around mile marker 441 real close to the end of this scenic by-way. Obviously I headed south. Sign said Tupelo 169 miles, hmmm?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natchez_Trace_Parkway
This last section for about 42 miles is posted 40mph. Nice sweepers but way to slow. After this section it goes up to a posted 50. The road is beautiful with no traffic at all in ether directions. The road side is cut and manicured almost to a fault. I think I was traveling the longest lawn on earth. After about 80 miles I turned around and headed back, stopped and took this pick next to the old trace. The path is actually sunken down and it looks like a hole in the woods. It could fit in the M Night movie "The Village". Spooky and quiet out here!

I stopped for lunch at Pucketts. Really quaint old place and village. Lots of bikes around and the best sweet potato french fries I have tasted in a long time. The cheeseburger was awesome too! Note to self, bring a big appetite next time and try the buffet.

I did spot the General Lee hidden behind the smoker!
Overall the return trip was quicker. I had to get back to take care of Abbi. The sweepers were great.
Rode about 180 mile overall. It felt great to get out again. The Cortech mesh was great and comfortable. Maybe an adventure to ride this down to Mile Marker 1 is in the future?

Officially here

Well I left NH on the 29th of June. Loaded up the Santa Fe to the gills and headed out. 1274 miles later I arrived and set up my temporary apartment digs. Abbi did fine on the trip. Yesterday she was introduced to cicada bugs and today she met a turtle on her walk.
Miss my wife a lot. Phone calls are keeping us in touch for now.
No chance to ride yet. Still chilling out and unpacking, etc.

First ride in TN

Well the MTS made it in one piece and I was able to get out for a few hours on 2/15.
Rode out to where the house is going to be built and this is what I saw. Realtor said they will be "driving nails" in @ two weeks. Ok, guess we will see soon enough.
It was 60F this day and my commute to work and home will take me over the road on the Percy Priest Dam. The highway I-40 which is behind me in the shot gets very busy during the commute. The back roads to work only add about 10-minutes to the commute. Worth it? YES!

Loading it up.

The bike was prepped and secured to a metal framed skid I had laying in the shop. Attached to it was a Bike Grab(UK) wheel chock kit I purchased for this move. I can always use it again for mounting in a trailer or p/u bed.
So it was loaded up on 1/31 and arrived in Nashville on 2/2/06. Was told by co-workers it is fine and I will see her again in about a week.
